Many people have questions about our community. The following are some of the most often asked of these. What kind of church are you (ie.
pentecostal, charismatic, non-denominational, spirit-filled, word,
conservative, liberal, catholic or protestant, traditional or
nontraditional, liturgical or non-liturgical)? How big is your church? If your coming from a big church and looking for something smaller, than we are the right size. If you’re coming from a small church and looking for something bigger, than we are the right size. The real question is not how big is our church but how big is our hearts. And we believe with everything in us that God wants to make our hearts bigger every day. What is the average age of the people at your church? Under 50 and above 10 depending on the Sunday. How old are you? Do you have different groups that meet or opportunities to get involved? We have many groups that meet throughout the week that provide opportunities for you to draw closer to Jesus within community and to serve. The real question is, are you ready to jump in with no life jacket and start swimming? Do you teach the Bible? Absolutely. But even more importantly we attempt to live it. We believe people need to see a sermon more than they need to hear one. Is you church perfect? Nope and never will be, because you and I are in it. What do you believe? The Apostle’s Creed says it best. However, as important as right beliefs are scripture seems to put much more of an emphasis on relationships, so do we. Do you believe in “speaking in tongues"? We have found it is rather difficult to speak without using your tongue, however, in all seriousness the gifts come from, and remain, the property of the Trinity. With this in mind, for us, it is never the gift that is the focal point but how our lives interact with them. We think if whatever gift you manifest is followed by more passion for Jesus and more passion for the lost then “let the gifts come"! Do you have an official membership? Yes. Every year we offer a time called “Let’s do family.” This is a chance for you to ask God if this is where He would want you to plant your feet, no matter how long that season would be. For us, we simply think that if you desire to pursue the Trinity in all it’s fullness, and you believe God has asked you to commit with your time, energy and resources into this community, and you complete our “Let’s do Family” series then we consider you a member. |
