Light of the World (Mission)

The community of the church (us) exists to complete God’s mission: to reveal Himself, so we might have relationship with Him & know the fullness of His love. This can be accomplished in many ways through the church. Here are some examples of how we “show God’s love in practical ways.”

• Friendship—Our greatest opportunity comes through befriending those that God has put in our lives: family, neighbors, classmates, teammates grocery clerks, waiters/waitresses, etc. God intentionally puts people in our lives so that He can share His love, through us, to them.
• Discipleship Groups—This is where we come together to share community with a small group of people practicing the principles: Upward, Inward, Outward, and Forward. (see Salt of the Earth link)
• Sunday Celebration—Here we come together as a large community to celebrate what God is doing & going to do with our church. We share in worship, the word, and fellowship.
• Yaks—Yaks is a coffee shop the church operates. Yaks started as a relational outreach that became so successful that we decided to open our own shop. This was done so that we could bless people in our community each day.
  Each Monday night from 5-10pm the college group works at Yaks offering 50% off everything to each college student that shows up. Once again this is done to create friendships.
